How to water a brick right
For watering fresh flower foam, a container filled with water should be used that is large enough for the shape.
It is important that the foam is placed on top of the water and can soak up the water “floating freely” without external influence (e.g. by pressing down or turning). This allows the air to completely escape from the fresh flower plug foam and be replaced by water. The water can distribute evenly in the foam and no dry spots will form. Thus, each flower in the floral arrangement is safely supplied with water.
What mistakes could happen?
If the cutting foam is pressed under water, the outer cells are sealed with water and the air can no longer escape from the inner cells. A dry core remains inside the cutting foam, which later does not supply the flowers with water, but actually withdraws it from them, thus ensuring extremely rapid wilting.
